Twelve local boats and one from Samoa have kicked off today the 19th Steinlager I’a Lapo’a Game Fishing Tournament in American Samoa.
The annual event is organized by the Pago Pago Game Fishing Association and this year will see $20,000 on prize money and other prizes up for grabs.
The tournament runs from today until Saturday May 5. A Ladies and Junior Day is set for Wednesday May 3 with prizing giving taking place at Sadies by the Sea on Saturday night.
The winning team will once again win the grand prize of entry to and representing American Samoa at the International Game Fishing Association Offshore World Championships later this year in Costa Rica.
