The Minister of Tourism, Nicole Bouteau, signed Tuesday morning at the CCISM (Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Services and Trade), an agreement with the President of the Chamber, Stéphane Chin Loy, within the framework of a support program for tourism providers, the “Passport Tourism”.
Set up through the CCISM’s Training Center, the “Passport Tourism” is aimed primarily at business leaders who are nationals of the Chamber and potentially employees. This program will be deployed to thirty to fifty small and medium-sized companies providing tourist activities (excluding accommodation), through twelve hours of diagnostics and advice provided in the following areas: English, quality of service and customer service, administrative management of the company, and use of new information and communication technologies.
This program converges with the tourism development strategy 2015-2020 led by the country, through the Ministry of Tourism, and in particular on these two actions: training and support for small business management activity providers and creation a traveling team to offer courses and coaching in the islands.
To carry out this program, an agreement was signed between the CCCISM and the Ministry of Tourism with a projected budget of 20 million Fcfp over two years, including 15 million Fcfp financed by the country.
The Minister of Tourism was satisfied with the implementation of this program which will be deployed in ten islands in the five archipelagos, allowing professionals in the sector to benefit from favorable conditions for the development of their business and develop thus the tourist offer.
