24 April 2018Delegations from Guam, the Northern Marianas, Chuuk, Kosrae, Pohnpei, Yap, the Marshall Islands and Palau will converge in Hagåtña for Guam’s premiere cultural event of the year. There will be a variety of cultural exhibitions, performances, arts and crafts, demonstrations, food and so much more.
The Guam Micronesian Island Fair is free and open to the public, and this is made possible by our valuable supporters — United Airlines, Bank of Guam, T Galleria by DFS, Heineken, Pacific Islands Club, Pepsi, GTA, the stations of KUAM, the A.B. Won Pat International Airport Authority and Matson Navigation Inc.
Buenas yan håfa adai! As we prepare for Tourism Month in May and to celebrate GVB’s 55 years of service to the community, we have many exciting activities planned to celebrate the more than 21,000 workers who support Guam’s No. 1 industry.
The most exciting event happening in the coming weeks is the 30th annual Guam Micronesia Island Fair. Hundreds of cultural practitioners, artists and entertainers are expected to showcase their culture from 5 to 9 p.m. May 2 to 6, with activities May 4 and 5 ending at 11 p.m. We expect the fair to draw thousands of residents and visitors to the Paseo de Susana in Hagåtña.
This year’s theme is “We Are Micronesia” and GVB will be highlighting regional unity and celebrating 30 years of cultural exchange. We are so fortunate to live and work in such a culturally rich and beautiful environment.
