Tourism Group Steps Up International Marketing Campaign

In November 2017, Tahiti and its islands welcomed 14,449 tourists, an increase of 8.1% compared to 2016.
In cumulative, over the year, from January to November 2017, the increase is less spectacular (183 929, + 3.5%). Nevertheless, slowly but surely, the destination is approaching 200,000 tourists.
For the November period, the upturn benefited more from floating accommodation (+ 29%) through the activity of cruise ships, than from land-based structures, which nevertheless recorded a rise of 4% .
The ISPF study by issuer market reveals a trend towards stability over the year, with the exception of New Zealand where the number of kiwifruit nationals jumped 32.6% from January to November 2017 compared to 2016 to reach 8,807 tourists. Our first reservoir, by far, remains the United States (62,269 tourists) followed by France (38,765, + 6.5%). A good score also for Japan whose market is growing by 5.5% with 11,972 registered Japanese tourists.
