Air Vanuatu Appoints New Chief Commercial Officer

Air Vanuatu has announced the appointment of Mr. Flavio Carvalho as its new Chief Commercial Officer, effective from 20 April 2026. Bringing more than eight years of aviation industry experience, Mr. Carvalho joins the national airline with a strong background in commercial operations, customer service, reservations management, and strategic airline partnerships across the Pacific region.

Prior to joining Air Vanuatu, Mr. Carvalho served with Air Kiribati Limited, where he held several leadership roles including Head of the Commercial and Reservation Department. During his time there, he contributed to improving operational systems, expanding digital booking access, and strengthening tourism and airline partnership initiatives.

Mr. Carvalho also previously worked with the Lufthansa Group in Fiji in customer service and quality assurance roles, while his early career experience at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, further shaped his customer-focused and operational approach.

Air Vanuatu welcomed Mr. Carvalho’s appointment as part of its continued efforts to strengthen commercial operations and enhance services for passengers and partners.
