Fiji's government is again allowing passenger flights into the country. The flights were suspended last week after a new variant of Covid-19 was confirmed in the United Kingdom.

The New Zealand government has contributed $6.9 million to help businesses in the Pacific recover from the pandemic. Border closures and a loss of trade routes has left many countries struggling, with a recent survey finding just under 50 percent of small to medium businesses in the Pacific have closed or expect to close.
