2 January 2018
Short Take: DAYLIGHT SAVING Ends Jan 14th In Fiji
3 January 2018WARWICK Fiji plans to raise funds from the sale of calendars with drawings by Year 12 students from schools in the vicinity of Vusu and Komave district.
Resort general manager Charles Homsy said they visited schools during their “No plastic — Fantastic” campaign in support of COP 23. He said the children prepared drawings which were very impressive prompting the idea to create a calendar.
“We have ordered 1000 copies of the calendar which will be sold and the proceeds will go back in our community fund.
“Our guests have a lot of interest in assisting with our community work. Last year we launched a Facebook appeal where guests were encouraged to bring in school books for needy schools in our community.”
Mr Homsy said it was a successful campaign and they distributed more than 1000 books to surrounding schools, he said they planned to launch a similar appeal this year.
