A new tourism product has been launched on Malekula. Aiemsandior Cultural and Snorkeling Tour is located on Rano, a small island on the north eastern coast of Malekula. Unique to Rano, the tour showcases the sacred world of the ‘small nambas’.

This is the day that the custom landowners of Champagne Beach, the chiefs and villages of Hog Harbour and East Santo, Sanma Province, tour operators; Ministry of Tourism and South Sea Shipping have been waiting for. Champagne Beach in East Santo has successfully launched its Cruise Tourism Committee yesterday, with assistance from the Managing Director of South Sea Shipping, John Tonner and Acting Director of Tourism Development, Donald Pelam. With about one million tourists arriving on cruise liners this year with 300,000 by air, tourism has become “everybody’s business”.

Visitor arrivals by air increase by 31% over February 2016, but decreased by (-37%) over the previous month. The decrease was reflected by the fall in number of visitors who arrived for holidays.
