Tonga has extended a State of Emergency for another month, until 15 February, due to ongoing concerns around the global spread of Covid-19.

One hundred and seventy-five people have been repatriated back to Tonga, arriving on a flight from New Zealand yesterday.

Tonga's government has delayed plans to reopen its border to New Zealand.

A second repatriation drill has been held in Tonga, to assess the readiness of testing facilities at the quarantine facility being set up at the Tanoa Hotel.
