Countdown to the 4th Micronesia Expo in Yap State

Get ready for a vibrant week of culture, creativity, and connection as Yap State proudly hosts the 4th Micronesia Expo from July 21st to 26th, 2025. This much-anticipated event will bring together participants from across the Federated States of Micronesia — Chuuk, Pohnpei, Kosrae, and Yap — to showcase the heart and soul of Micronesian traditions.

From traditional dances and ceremonies to music, arts, crafts, and storytelling, the Expo is a celebration of our shared heritage and unique cultural identities. It’s more than a festival, it’s an opportunity for the people of FSM to come together, celebrate diversity, and pass on rich knowledge and customs to the next generation. Through performances, workshops, and interactive displays, children, youth, and visitors alike will gain a deeper appreciation for Micronesian ways of life.

Led by the Yap Visitors Bureau and its dedicated organizing committee, this year’s Expo promises to be bigger and more impactful than ever. Participants will include national and state government representatives, private sector stakeholders, local communities, schools, youth and women’s groups, as well as traditional leaders, artists, weavers, tattooists, musicians, and development partners. The Expo is not only a cultural showcase — it’s a platform for meaningful dialogue, economic opportunities, and national unity. It continues to uplift local businesses, engage young leaders, and spark collaborative solutions for a brighter FSM.

This event highlights the vital role that communities and culture play as essential assets for sustainable tourism. It aligns with Goals 2 and 3 of the 2030 Pacific Sustainable Tourism Policy Framework. The national event reiterates these broader regional objectives for the Pacific Tourism Industry and emphasises the importance of continuing to celebrate our people and culture.
