Outrigger Fiji Resort named “Best Fijian Resort”
7 September 2017ESCAPE the traffic, stress and business of city life so you can unplug, unwind and unwire — so you can reconnect, rejuvenate and realign yourself.
Namosi Eco Retreat is the gem hidden in the highlands of Fiji. You enter a pristine world surrounded by dramatic cloud covered mountains and the beautiful simplicity of village life.
The retreat was founded by Dan, a huge hulk of a man with a big heart and a wide smile, who hails from Navunikabi Village, close to where the eco retreat is located in the highlands of Namosi.
Dan says he wanted to build this retreat to give visitors a real and authentic experience of Fiji, while also being able to give back to his community.
Dan explains that the interior is an unexplored paradise in Fiji, many visitors have been to different parts of Fiji, usually the beaches.
But Namosi is a totally different Fijian experience; it is peaceful, pristine and nestled alongside a beautiful riverfront.
The drive through the mountains is a sight to behold on its own, winding roads through valleys and mountains and huge rock faces unlike anywhere else in Fiji.
Once you arrive you are greeted by your warm and accommodating hosts, who go out of their way to make sure you feel at home and cook real authentic Fijian cuisine.
Almost all the food is organically grown on the site. You can even learn how to plant and harvest the staple Fijian crops.
One of the most wonderful aspects of Namosi Eco Retreat is the lack of phone reception.
It really allows one take a moment from our hectic lives to pause, breath and reflect.
It’s a perfect escape for families, couples, individuals or friends to take time to really get back to basics, escape the screens, look each other in the eyes and have a conversation.
