20 June 2018Cook Islands Tourism are proud to announce two full-day photography workshops next week. Established local photographer, Melanie Cooper, will run an event focused workshop on Monday 25 June.
Acclaimed food photographer & food stylist, Derek Smith, will run a cuisine focused workshop on Wednesday 27 June.
Workshops are open to professional or semi-professional photographers based in the Cook Islands. Space is limited. Preference will be given to accredited photographers.
All participants will need; a DSLR or Mirrorless camera, Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of your camera settings and Enthusiasm!

EVENT PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP

Monday 25th June
9am – 4pm

Learn and develop your understanding of how to build documentary style photography for covering events. Advance your storytelling skills by analysing real life situations, studying image compositions using available light.
This workshop will encourage you to capture varying points of view through positioning and framing your subjects. Most of all, the workshop with Melanie Cooper will help you discover your own visual language. This will be a hands on workshop.

FOOD PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP

Get insights to create stunning photographs which will leap off the page and say ‘Eat Me’.
This workshop is all about utilizing natural light and flash, developing your own style, creating mood, flavour and tone.
Our Hands on approach allows you to experiment with food and props learning how a simple set up can change the way you photograph food. I want to inspire you and teach you creative shortcuts, lighting ideas and styling techniques that will give your photographs the edge.

NOTE: Completion of the above registration forms does not guarantee your participation. CI Tourism will be in touch to confirm your placement by Friday 22 June. All confirmed participants will need to be available to attend practical sessions at CI Tourism cuisine events on Tuesday 26th June and Monday 2nd July from 6pm – 9pm.
