Tourism in the Pacific Islands has been crippled by COVID-19 and has been one of the hardest hit sectors worldwide, and the most aggravating concern for most PICs is the rising unemployment from an upsurge in job losses and/or reduced working hours. In light of these negative impacts to the industry, the Pacific Tourism Organisation (SPTO) in partnership with the New Zealand Foreign Affairs and Trade (NZMFAT) is seeking reputable website developers to create a Pacific tourism employment portal. This website will serve as a bridge to connect the unemployed tourism related workers with job opportunities nationally as well as regionally.
The website must be developed using a Content Management System (CMS) with custom-made functions and features.
Domain name registration and a minimum of 2 years web hosting arrangement
Central administration access of all features
Website must be designed using Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) separating the CSS files and design files.
Staff training on CMS, including all back-end operations.
Provide a website archiving strategy and full documentation of the website, including site-map, training manual, source code, and all login details.
Required skills and experience:
Be a reputable firm with at least 7 years of prior experience designing visually appealing and navigation friendly web sites;
Familiarity and relevant experience in using different Content Management Systems (CMS), particularly WordPress;
Have a broad knowledge of current web development technologies and design tools in the field, and new software and other web programming languages and programs including use of HTML, XHTML, CSS, XML, XSLT, Macromedia Flash, Java;
Have excellent knowledge of recent trends in graphic design, web sites, including online video publishing, and social media networking;
Demonstrate the ability to create innovative and visually appealing design;
Work experience with Tourism in the Pacific would be an added advantage

Template/design of the website
Back-end support plan after the website is developed
Timeline of the project
Full cost of the development of the website including hosting options
CVs of those involved in this project
The development of the website is expected to commence on 7 December 2020 and the website will be launched on 14 February 2021.
