Fai Meaalofa campaign targets diaspora in key markets

            May 4, 2021

In efforts to further boost domestic tourism, Samoa Tourism is developing a campaign which will target overseas based Samoans with the aim to further assist the local tourism industry.

The Campaign, known as ‘Fai Meaalofa’, will utilize the available platforms that are currently used by the VFR segment across source markets to purchase goods and services direct for their Samoa based families and loved ones without having to send cash.

The Authority recognizes that there are quite a number of occasions whereby these systems can come in handy for the Samoa diaspora looking to send gifts for their local loved ones. These include and are not limited to birthdays, anniversaries, celebrations, special events, etc”.

Pacific40.com is one such platform that had recently joined forces with the Authority and their service involves the use of a simple voucher system known as the ‘Talofa Voucher’ which is purchased online and redeemed locally by a chosen relative.

Promotional activities for the campaign will be run through social media, in-market Samoa radio stations, Samoa online TV programs and specifically targeted online advertising towards the VFR audiences.
