Upcoming SPTO Tourism Week Promises a Dynamic Exchange of Insights and Collaboration
27 April 2024The Pacific Tourism Organisation (SPTO) is excited to announce its partnership with Fiji Airways for the 2024 South Pacific Tourism Exchange (SPTE) on the 4th and 5th of May at the Sheraton Resort & Spa, Denarau in Nadi. This collaboration demonstrates Fiji Airways’ dedication to supporting and growing tourism in the Pacific region.
As part of the partnership, Fiji Airways will provide flight support for key trade and media representatives as well as tourism partners to attend the event. This underscores Fiji Airways’ commitment to SPTE 2024’s success and reinforces its position as the premier airline in the Pacific. This is evident from their win of the 2023 Skytrax Best Airline in Australia & the Pacific at the esteemed 2023 World Airline Awards.
In 2023, SPTE was held in Christchurch, New Zealand, attracting sellers from across the Pacific and buyers from key markets worldwide. This year’s event promises to build upon that success, offering a platform for global tourism operators to engage with the diverse offerings of the Pacific region.
SPTO Chief Executive Officer Chris Cocker expressed his appreciation for Fiji Airways’ support, highlighting its vital role in the Pacific’s tourism industry.
“SPTO is thrilled to partner with Fiji Airways. The sponsorship from Fiji Airways holds great promise in elevating our visibility and engagement with travellers across key markets. SPTE offers an excellent opportunity for Fiji Airways to enhance its presence and key connections across our Pacific Island membership. We look forward to presenting the best of the Pacific and cultivating significant relationships among industry players,” Mr Cocker said.
Fiji Airways’ Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Mr Andre Viljoen, echoed this sentiment, affirming the airline’s dedication to supporting the region’s tourism recovery efforts.
“As the primary airline connecting Fiji and the Pacific to the world, we are proud to support SPTE 2024. Sustainable travel has never been more crucial, and we are committed to sharing the Pacific Island’s charm and warmth with audiences worldwide. This partnership with SPTO embodies our common goal of fostering a strong, united tourism industry”.
