Cultural Village Being Built In Nadi
1 October 2017Fiji Airways pilots will be swapping their gold shoulder stripes for pink this month to show the airline’s support for breast cancer awareness and research.
The initiative came from the suggestion of a Fiji Airways pilot who garnered support from his fellow pilots for the ‘Pilots Fly Pink’ campaign during Pinktober.
For the entire month of October, all Fiji Airways and Fiji Link pilots will proudly don these pink epaulettes with the aim of creating awareness for breast cancer and raising funds for cancer research.
Fiji Airways will also hold a number of internal activities and fundraising drives to raise funds for the worthy cause.
Fiji Airways Executive General Manager Corporate Affairs Shaenaz Voss says breast cancer affects many Fijians and has one of the highest mortality rates because of late detection.
All funds raised during Pinktober will go directly to the Fiji Cancer Society towards breast cancer awareness and research projects around Fiji.
