Fiji has the potential to widen the scope of the tourism industry to attract medical tourism to our shores.
Economy Minister, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says the tourism sector has a lot of opportunities however, with the right focus this can be expanded.
“We of course wouldn’t mind carrying out surgeries and other procedure for Australians and Kiwis who may actually find Fiji more attractive.
What better way to come and have a procedure and then relax on the beach in Fiji.”
Sayed-Khaiyum says this can all be possible however the country’s health sector needs to be able to cater for the right medical services.
He adds Fiji also has the opportunity to host retirement villages.
