Tourism Fiji is pleased to announce that the Electro-Technology Conference, hosted by the National Electrical and Communications Association (NECA), will take place from July 27-31.
The conference, which is expecting over 250 attendees from Australia, will be held at the InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort and Spa in Natadola, Viti Levu.
NECA is an industry body representing the interests of the electrical and communications contracting industry across Australia.
The Conference, which is held in Australia and other overseas countries on a rotation basis, is designed to develop business knowledge while providing a platform for the members to establish lasting relationships.
The Minister for Industry, Trade, Tourism, Lands and Mineral Resources, Faiyaz Koya said: “Our tourism sector has undergone significant growth over the past few years, building our overall capacity with the inclusion of several new properties.
“Combining the increase in available properties with an increase in airlift, in addition to our prime location in the heart of the Pacific, Fiji is in a unique position to continue the growth in the meetings, incentives, and conference sector,” the Koya added.
The four-day Conference would include 150 delegates and 125 partners.
The attendees also include approximately 20-30 children travelling with their families and extended family who accompany the delegates for leisure.
The event will have a mixture of conference sessions, partner programme, leisure activities and an extensive social programme.
NECA’s philosophy when visiting a destination is to immerse themselves in the local culture and customs of the destination.
“While we actively promote Fiji as a holiday destination for families and couples in Australia, focusing on the meetings, incentives and conferences market allows us to expand our messaging and reach beyond the leisure market,” added Tourism Fiji chief executive, Matthew Stoeckel.
