Fiji visitor arrivals recorded 90,108 last month. This is the first time it has exceeded the 90,000 mark when compared to the same period last year.
President of the Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association, Dixon Seeto said the arrivals were an encouraging trend.
“We are seeing healthy increases from most of the markets.”
Mr Seeto added that the increase shows a good sign of a healthy increase in the Tourism market.
Even though there has been a slight decrease in the market – but overall in the 12 months, it has shown an increase, he said.
But Fiji needs to focus on diversifying our source market, Mr Seeto said.
While Australia remains the largest tourism market, it therefore needs to be developed further. Hence, we should also look at developing the new and emerging market as well, said Mr. Seeto.
