Standing Out In Samoa
19 October 2017The newest addition to Fiji’s luxury island choices provides an excellent option for incentive and meeting groups utilising Denarau resorts, says Margaret Spiro, campaign manager at First Travel Group.
Spiro was one of about 20 wholesale travel marketing and product managers who sampled Malamala Beach Club as well as the new Koro adults area at Hilton Fiji Beach Resort.
‘Malamala has heaps of potential for the conference and incentive market both for day trips and evening functions. Spiro says she has not been to Fiji for a while and wasn’t sure what to expect from the new venues.
‘The view coming in (to Malamala) was spectacular – looking across the jetty to the white sands.’ Carl Amos, marketing services manager at South Sea Cruises, says Malamala has already had business from incentive groups out of New Zealand and is gaining traction with the weddings market.
‘Groups can take a full charter in the form of a complete buy out or they can just take an area like The Venue, The Deck or bar and utilise some of the cabanas.’
The Kiwi agents visited Malamala, which is 25 minutes cruise from Denarau, on a Tourism Fiji trip supported by Fiji Airways, Air New Zealand and South Sea Cruises.
