Hainan Airlines Plans Charter Flights To Tahiti

The Chinese carrier Hainan Airlines plans to have three charter flights to Tahiti this month as part of its first foray into French Polynesia.
The Tahiti aiport company said the first Airbus was due this weekend via Auckland and was bringing in the company’s top managers.
It said a second plane, a Boeing Dreamliner, was then due from Hong Kong.
The flights come amid talks of a possible regular service between China and Papeete.
The Hainan conglomerate owns two major resorts in French Polynesia – the Hilton in Moorea and Saint Regis in Bora Bora.
Tahiti Airport says it is “delighted” to welcome the first aircraft of the company Hainan Airlines, whose arrival is scheduled for Saturday, October 21st.
This first punctual charter flight will be provided by an Airbus A330-200. He will arrive from Auckland and must land at 8:40 to leave two hours later after disembarking his passengers, among whom are the highest personalities of the Hainan group. A second flight is announced the same day from Hong Kong Boeing 787-8. This second aircraft should remain on the tarmac of Tahiti-Faa’a until Wednesday, October 25.
A third rotation is scheduled a few days later, Thursday, October 26, to recover the passengers of the first flight and bring them back to Auckland.
As with many other prospects, ADT has for several months been in commercial contact with the Hainan company for the development of the air network and the supply of transport to and from Fenua.
