SPTO Industry Membership Programme Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions apply to all members of the Pacific Tourism Organisation’s Industry Membership Programme.

By applying for membership, the applicant confirms that they have read, understood, and accepted these Terms and Conditions. Membership is subject to approval by SPTO.

Membership is open to individuals, tourism businesses, tourism-related organisations, NGOs, development partners, education institutions, training providers, and other organisations that support tourism development and align with SPTO’s objectives.

Membership categories include:

Applicants must submit the completed online application form and provide the required information, including organisation details, contact information, areas of interest, business size, membership tier, organisation biography, supporting documents, and logo where applicable.

SPTO may request additional information before assessing or approving an application.

6. Membership Benefits

Benefits are provided according to the member’s approved category and tier.

Some benefits may be subject to availability, eligibility, programme schedules, editorial approval, partner requirements, event capacity, third-party terms, or SPTO’s operational capacity.

SPTO does not guarantee sales, bookings, leads, media coverage, event participation, funding, partnerships, or commercial outcomes from membership.

SPTO may adjust the timing, format, or delivery of membership benefits where necessary.

7. Member Information and Directory Listings

Members are responsible for ensuring that the information submitted to SPTO is accurate, current, and complete.

This includes contact details, organisation description, website links, social media links, logos, business registration details, and other information submitted through the application form.

SPTO may use approved member information for membership administration, invoicing, member communications, directory listings, promotional opportunities, reporting, and programme delivery.

Members must notify SPTO of any material changes to their organisation, contact details, eligibility, or membership information.

SPTO may edit, withhold, or remove member listings where information is incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, misleading, or unsuitable for publication.

8. Use of SPTO Name, Logo, Badge, and Resources

Members may only use SPTO’s name, logo, membership badge, images, templates, publications, or resources in accordance with SPTO’s written guidance or approval.

Membership does not give a member the right to represent SPTO, speak on behalf of SPTO, or imply endorsement by SPTO unless this has been approved in writing.

Members must not misuse SPTO branding, badges, resources, member benefits, image libraries, data, reports, or any other materials made available through the Programme.

SPTO may request the removal or correction of any use of its name, logo, badge, or resources that it considers inaccurate, misleading, inappropriate, or inconsistent with SPTO’s role.

  6. comply with these Terms and Conditions and any relevant SPTO guidelines.

10. Renewal of Membership

SPTO will issue a renewal notice before the end of the membership year.

Members must pay the renewal fee within thirty days of invoice issuance or by the renewal due date stated by SPTO.

If payment is not received by the due date, SPTO may suspend membership benefits until payment is made.

Members who do not renew will no longer qualify for membership benefits, listings, visibility opportunities, discounts, or access provided through the Programme.

11. Cancellation by Member

A member may cancel their membership by providing one month’s written notice to SPTO.

Once membership is cancelled, the member will no longer have access to membership benefits.

Membership fees are annual and non-refundable once membership has been approved and activated, unless SPTO agrees otherwise in writing.

  7. engages in conduct that SPTO considers inappropriate, unlawful, unethical, or inconsistent with the objectives of the Programme.

Where appropriate, SPTO may give the member an opportunity to respond or correct the issue before suspension or termination. SPTO reserves the right to act immediately where the matter is serious.

13. Changes to Terms, Fees, and Benefits

SPTO may update these Terms and Conditions, membership fees, categories, benefits, services, policies, and procedures from time to time.

Material changes will be communicated through SPTO’s website, email, or other appropriate channels.

Continued participation in the Programme after changes have been communicated will be treated as acceptance of the updated Terms and Conditions.

14. Privacy and Communications

SPTO may collect and use member information for purposes related to membership administration, invoicing, communications, directory listings, event invitations, reporting, programme delivery, and member support.

SPTO may contact members about membership matters, SPTO programmes, events, opportunities, surveys, publications, and relevant tourism updates.

Members are responsible for ensuring that any personal information provided to SPTO is submitted with the necessary authority or consent.
