Inaugural Pacific Tourism Insights Conference To Convene In Vanuatu In October 2017

            July 7, 2017

The South Pacific Tourism Organisation, in partnership with the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) and Vanuatu Tourism Office (VTO) will jointly organise and convene the first regional tourism conference in Port Vila, Vanuatu on the 25th of October.
In years past, SPTO has organized regional tourism conferences that brought together key tourism actors and decision makers in the public and private sectors, academia, donors, development partners, tourism associations, relevant national and regional bodies and airlines with the objective to discuss regional tourism updates, trends, and topical matters concerning its Pacific Island member countries.
This year, the one-day conference will see the participation of regional and international thinkers, professionals and leading reputable companies such as Trip Advisor, BBC Worldwide Asia, Room-Res.com, EarthCheck, MyTravelResearch.com, Sydney University of Technology, the BHive and Digital Jungle.
The PTIC will be held to provide a regional platform for dialogue on matters of interest in international and regional tourism. The conference will also highlight an avenue for regional discussions and sharing of ‘best practices’ and lessons learnt; facilitate networking amongst key national, regional and international tourism players and bring innovative thinking and new insights to the Pacific’s tourism industry.
This will in turn assist and support the vision of Pacific leaders in empowering the Pacific’s tourism industry. The Conference also provides an opportunity for the private sector to attend and actively engage as well as provide much insight, innovation and knowledge.
PTIC will also be held in-conjunction with the annual October SPTO Board and Council of Tourism Ministers meetings held on the 26th and 27th October.
Registrations are now open and available online on www.pata.org/event/ptic-2017, with the conference program also viewable on the website. The registration fee is US$100 and there is a 25% discount for SPTO and PATA members that is attainable under a designated promotional code.
For enquiries or further information on the PTIC, you can contact Christina Leala-Gale on email cgale@spto.org or call the SPTO office on +679 3304177. Otherwise, you may also contact the Vanuatu Tourism Office (for those located in Vanuatu) on email: tourismforum@vanuatu.gov.vu
