Action On Sustainability In Tourism Needs Extra Push, Says New UNWTO Report
7 June 2018We are thrilled to announce that we have won the BEST SOUTH PACIFIC FOOD CULTURE category at the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards 2018!
This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase Fijian food, people and culture on the world stage and further promote the values we have built on in Kana Vinaka.

A huge thanks to everyone that contributed to producing this book… we couldn’t have done it without you.
The International Gourmand Awards are known as the Olympics for cookbooks and were founded by Edouard Cointreau 23 years ago, with over 200 courtiers participating and thousands of books entered.
Kana vinaka means “eat well or good food” in Fijian, and is the title of chef Colin Chung’s new book about contemporary island cuisine. Throughout his forty years teaching and consulting in the islands, Colin has always promoted the use of fresh, local produce and the development of a more contemporary style of cuisine using the outstanding local produce on offer. Kana Vinaka is a not-for-profit initiative by Colin and a project he has taken on in the hopes of providing lasting development for the tourism and hospitality industry in Fiji, as well as, changing the way locals eat in their own country: healthy, sustainable and lowering dependence on imports and promoting the growth and vibrancy of the economy.
