At the invitation of Gérard Deshayes, president of the association Breizh Polynesia, the Representative of French Polynesia, Caroline Tang attended this weekend in Quéven, Brittany, in France at the 26 th edition of the Summer Tahitian.
The festival is one of the most important Polynesian events in France.
Arrived late Friday morning in Quéven, Caroline Tang went during the day to meet the thirty exhibitors present in the Polynesian village. She then participated in the opening evening of the event, hosted by the orchestra “Le souffle Ma’ohi” and marked by the spectacle of the dance group of Breizh Polynesia and the concert of the singer, Laurent Degache.
Invited to speak, the Delegate was pleased to see Polynesia thus honored and praised the remarkable work carried out by Gérard Deshayes, his team of volunteers and all the actors who have been involved for nearly three decades , To the success of the Tahitian Summer.
Three days of events
“Ori” shows Tahiti, concerts, tattooing, crafts, gastronomy: during the three days of the event, from 7 to 9 July, visitors were able to appreciate the richness and cultural know-how of the “fenua”. Saturday’s day was punctuated by the successive performances of the region’s dance groups, which offered more than three hours of performances. An ecumenical service, hosted by a Polynesian choir, was also celebrated in late afternoon at the church in Quéven, in the presence of Caroline Tang. A dinner show, marked by the participation of the group “Aloha Tahiti Show” directed by Terii Taputu, concluded this beautiful day.
The next day, the troop also hosted a Tambour marathon for almost four hours. During the three days, the public was able to stroll through the Polynesian market. According to the organizer, the event benefited from attendance of 4,000 people this year.
