The Lukim PNG Nau tourism exhibition is set to be staged again this year.
Tourism Promotion Authority marketing and research director Alice Kuaningi said for this year’s celebrations the activities will be focused more on the World Tourism Day theme ‘Year of sustainable tourism for development’.
Ms Kuaningi said a total of 34 local and international operators have confirmed to be part of this exhibition at the Port Moresby Nature Park on Sunday. However, she said prior to the expo, they will hold a marketing workshop starting tomorrow and another workshop for overseas managers will be held next week Tuesday.
“The main highlight for the workshop on Friday will be the presentation of an International Visitor Survey (IVS) that the industry has been working on for the last six months.
“Unfortunately those who wish to attend will have to register as there is a fee to it.
“Monday we will have the trade day with 30 international travel agents from Europe, USA, UK, China and Japan which are our main trading partners, and on Tuesday we will have the trade day with our local travel agents,” she said.
She said that there will also be a tourism booth at the Vision City mega mall in Port Moresby on Friday.
