Major sponsors of Toktok Vanuatu 2018 sign agreement with VTO

The Vanuatu Tourism Office (VTO) held a ceremony at the Warwick Le Lagon Resort in Port Vila Tuesday to thank the major sponsors for their sponsorship and also to sign the sponsorship agreement with each of the sponsors.

The major sponsors of this year’s Toktok Vanuatu are: ANZ Bank Vanuatu, Air Vanuatu, Warwick Le Lagon Resort, Digicel and What To Do tourism publication.

Toktok Vanuatu is the signature tourism trade show for Vanuatu tourism and it has been running consecutively for the last 14 years. This year, 2018, will be its 15th edition with the theme ‘Happiness letting it go”.

Speaking at the ceremony Tuesday, the Chief Executive Officer of VTO, Adela Issachar Aru, said the Toktok Vanuatu dates for 2018 are confirmed for August 27 through 31 with amazing programs developed for Tanna, Santo and a new inclusion this year’s travel itinerary is Malekula.

“Only the 27th August, just before the buyers’ program commences, we will be hosting the second travel expo with the aim of encouraging our local community to get out and about and explore Vanuatu. It is about encouraging our domestic tourism,” Mrs Aru added.

“We are proud to confirm that our major sponsor ANZ Bank Vanuatu will also be providing a money minding workshop session for the sellers as part of the travel expo. This is what we need as an industry to build, present and save our economy.”

Registrations for Toktok Vanuatu 2018 are now underway and to date they have over 10 sellers comprising of seven accommodation operators and three tour operators. VTO have already received buyer’s registration from South Korea, South Pacific Tourism Organization, Denmark, Fiji and New Caledonia.

“Our aim for 2018 Toktok is to reach more than 50 sellers and buyers of which we want them all to sit down and do business,” VTO CEO Aru said.

She said most of the buyers are expected from Australia, New Zealand and New Caledonia with a number from the US market and China.
