Manava Beach Resort & Spa Moorea Celebrates World Oceans Day

            June 22, 2022

On the occasion of this year’s World Oceans Day, The Manava Beach Resort & Spa organised a waste collection and clean-up in order to protect the remarkable biodiversity of the Moorea Lagoon.

About thirty participants from all walks of life including employees, guests and volunteers were involved in this clean up where the participants cleaned the seabed of the lagoon through snorkelling. Velo Paddle Miti Moorea, Reef Ecosystem and Moorea Blue Diving also respectively assisted by collecting waste that lay at a depth of 15-20 metres.

This clean-up concluded with Manava Beach Resort & Spa distributing reusable water bottles and burlap bags for all participants as a token of appreciation for their undivided support. They were also left with a newfound appreciation for the rich biodiversity of the Moorea Lagoon with a heightened sense of responsibility to look after it. Upon seeing the success of this event, it has been decided by the Manava Beach Resort & Spa  to undertake such clean-ups on a regular basis.
