Megan Evans Joins SPTO as Project Management Specialist

Joining the Pacific Tourism Organisation through a six-month volunteer assignment with Volunteer Service Abroad (VSA), Megan Evans brings a passion for sustainability and community impact that will further strengthen our collective efforts to shape a resilient and inclusive tourism future for the Pacific.

A recent graduate of the University of Otago with a BACom in Geography and International Business, Megan brings strategic thinking, cross-cultural awareness, and a strong interest in community-based development across Pacific contexts.

She previously supported SPTO through the Summer Scholar Research Program, producing a report on global best practices in Community-Based Tourism (CBT). Her experience also includes market research and strategic planning for Zoffee’s product launch.

In her new role with the Division of Sustainable Tourism, Megan will support project planning and management of key initiatives such as the Pacific Youth Forum on Sustainable Tourism and the biennial Pacific Sustainable Tourism Leadership Summit, deliver staff training on project management best practices, help streamline implementation and reporting for the Pacific Sustainable Tourism Policy Framework, and contribute to designing a tailored Theory of Change to guide SPTO’s sustainable tourism efforts.
