Radisson Blu Resort Fiji welcomes onboard new Director of Food and Beverage
26 July 2022The Pacific Tourism Organisation (SPTO) is pleased to announce that it will be working with Miles Partnership to develop the Pacific Storytelling Specialist Programme (PSSP) and the Consumer, Trade, and Media Marketing, under the New Zealand government-funded Pacific Digital Tourism Transformation Project.
As part of the New Zealand government-funded Pacific Digital Tourism Transformation Project (Phase 2), these activities are linked to the Capability and Connections pillar of SPTO’s Digital Strategy, which seeks to develop the region’s digital activities and programmes.
The PSSP will primarily benefit SPTO’s NTOs and private sector members. It is an accreditation programme that provides travel agents with an opportunity to develop and enhance their knowledge of the various tourism products and services that are available throughout the Pacific. While the Consumer, Trade, and Media Marketing Pacific aims to strengthen SPTO’s and its member’s communications, advertising, and relationships with key trade and media channels.
In acknowledging the appointment of Miles Partnership for the two activities, SPTO CEO Christopher Cocker mentioned that the two activities would boost SPTO and its member’s digital capacity and it also aligns and integrates with sustainability, reporting, and statistics.
Adding that through these partnerships, new technologies, tools or opportunities meant specific digital tactics will change to build and refine SPTO’s role as the coordinating digital leader in the region.
“Pacific people are storytellers and tourism is all about sharing experiences through storytelling. Through the Digital Strategy, NTOs and tourism stakeholders are empowered to tell the stories of the Pacific in new and engaging ways. Amplifying Pacific stories across all digital channels and media. And digital marketing also offers rich opportunities where SPTO, NTOs, and private sector partners can work together and create marketing opportunities that would benefit all stakeholders,” Mr Cocker said.
