The Taveuni Tourism Association (TTA) has expanded the TTA Board to include a key role of Cultural Advisor. This new role will be crucial to many projects and will take the lead in many activities that require local understanding and considerate liaison.
We are delighted to announce that Kauata Siqila (Kay) has now joined the Board as Cultural Advisor. Kay has over 10 years working in tourism as a Tour Guide, Tour Consultancy, Reservations and as a Divemaster. His experience means that he knows what tourists are looking for and how best to give them wonderful memories of the authentic cultural activities found throughout the island communities.
Kay is eager to show tourists the beauty of Taveuni, it’s wonderful people and culture. His love of fishing, farming and the diverse environment on Taveuni will be a huge benefit for reviving tourism here once our borders reopen. He is also excited to be part of the TTA Board as it will be a new and exciting challenge for him personally.
In his capacity of TTA Cultural Advisor, Kay will be responsible for leading a team to establish the Handicraft Market and to liaise with the local villages to sell their handicrafts which is a new and exciting project for the TTA Board.
