The Vanuatu Tourism Office welcomes Fiji Airways’ Return to Vanuatu
12 July 2022A webinar aimed at educating Australian travel agents on the unique offerings of Pacific destinations was jointly hosted by Pacific Tourism Organisation (SPTO) Pacific Trade Invest Australia and the Treasures of the South Pacific (ToSP) team this past week.
Throughout the month-long webinar series, ToSP featured tourism products and experiences in some of its member countries, culminating in the final webinar “Hidden Treasures of the South Pacific” on July 5th which waspresented by both Pacific Trade Invest Australia and SPTO.
Series facilitator Mr. Richard Skewes noted the importance of the webinar series in differentiating between Pacific destinations, particularly for Smaller Island States who face unique challenges in competing in the global market.
“The Hidden Treasures inclusion is important as it is one of the very few times that the smaller island states without local representation get to have a loud voice in an often crowded marketplace. Everyone who participated in these live training webinars is now more educated and better equipped to sell the right destination to the right clientele,” Mr. Skewes said.
In acknowledging the importance of the ToSP webinar series SPTO CEO Christopher Cocker emphasized the importance of fostering thorough understanding of the Pacific product, particularly the Small Island States.
“Tourism is an industry where experience is everything. Going the extra mile and working together to give tourists the best possible service will translate into stellar reviews and glowing recommendations for all parties involved,” he said.
