Scheduled for March 2026, this high-level forum will provide practical insights, strategic dialogue, and applied learning opportunities to strengthen the region’s collective capacity to build a more resilient, sustainable, and connected Pacific tourism industry.
SPTO Industry Day 2026 will serve as a critical space for sharing the latest global and regional tourism and aviation intelligence relevant to Pacific destinations. It will strengthen understanding of digital marketing, artificial intelligence, and emerging distribution trends, while enhancing crisis preparedness and risk management capabilities for destinations. The programme will also advance regional sustainability priorities and standards, explore high-value growth segments such as MICE and adventure tourism, and foster stronger collaboration between public and private sector stakeholders across the Pacific.
The event’s theme, Building a Resilient, Sustainable & Connected Pacific Tourism Industry, reflects SPTO’s strategic priorities and the current operating realities of Pacific tourism. It underscores the importance of resilience in anticipating and recovering from crises, sustainability in advancing responsible tourism practices, aviation and air connectivity to strengthening physical, digital, and market linkages to support growth, competitiveness, and inclusion.
SPTO Industry Day 2026 is designed for a diverse range of participants, including NTOs, tourism ministries and government agencies, tourism operators and private sector associations, airlines and aviation stakeholders, digital marketing platforms and technology providers, regional and international tourism partners, development agencies, and sustainability and risk management specialists.
SPTO Chief Executive Officer, Christopher Cocker, stated: “SPTO Industry Day 2026 represents a pivotal moment for Pacific tourism. By convening leaders, innovators, and partners from across the region and beyond, we are creating a platform for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and strategic action and adding value to delegates attending SPTE. This event
is not only about addressing challenges but also about unlocking opportunities that will shape a more resilient, sustainable, and connected future for Pacific tourism. Air connectivity, environmental responsibility, and sustainability are not issues that can be tackled in isolation—they require collective effort, shared vision, and strong partnerships. Together, we can ensure that Pacific tourism thrives while safeguarding the environment and strengthening the bonds that connect our islands to the world.”
SPTO warmly encourages all stakeholders to participate in this important event and contribute to shaping the future of tourism in the Pacific. By working together, we can strengthen regional capacity, celebrate innovation, and ensure that Pacific tourism continues to thrive in an increasingly dynamic global environment.
