The Pacific Tourism Organisation (SPTO) has today announced the appointment of Mr. Zaheer Hassan as its new Marketing Manager.
Zaheer has a wealth of experience in the private sector and has a strong background in digital marketing, branding and public relations. In addition, he has worked in a number of industries including telecommunications, hardware, retail, education and film.
In announcing the appointment, Pacific Tourism Organisation (SPTO) CEO Mr. Christopher Cocker, acknowledged the strategic importance of the role as SPTO prepares to adapt to the demands presented by the COVID-19 pandemic and SPTO’s transformation to digital marketing.
“Discussions surrounding the digital transformation of SPTO have been underway for some time now and COVID-19 has definitely emphasized the need to prioritize that process”, he said.
“With that in mind, Zaheer’s recruitment came a critical time for the organisation as we sought the necessary skills and experience to reinvigorate SPTO’s marketing strategies to ensure that we remain a fit for purpose organisation, ready to effectively assist the recovery efforts of our members and the digitalization of the Pacific tourism industry as whole post COVID-19”.
Zaheer has a Bachelor of Business degree from Central Queensland University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of the South Pacific. He is also a professional member of the Digital Marketing Association, UK.
