4 December 2024The Pacific Tourism Organisation (SPTO) participated in AdventureNEXT Fiji, held from November 20-22 at the InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa. This event showcased the growing potential of adventure travel in the Pacific and offered a platform to explore its role in sustainable tourism development.
AdventureNEXT Fiji, guided by the theme “Toso Vata” or “Move Together”, highlighted the power of collaboration and innovation in advancing the tourism sector. For SPTO, it marked a significant step toward embracing adventure travel as a transformative opportunity for the region.
SPTO’s engagement in AdventureNEXT Fiji reflects its commitment to exploring new avenues in the tourism industry and its drive to enhance the Pacific’s standing as a premier travel destination. The event featured inspiring keynote sessions, interactive workshops, and invaluable networking opportunities with industry leaders and experts.

SPTO Chief Executive Officer, Christopher Cocker, emphasized the importance of such initiatives, stating “Adventure travel represents a dynamic and growing segment of the global tourism market. By participating in AdventureNEXT Fiji, we unlock new opportunities for the Pacific, enhancing our members’ tourism offerings while staying true to our shared values of sustainability and cultural preservation. Cocker also highlighted the importance of knowledge sharing, collaboration, and mutual growth among its member nations, drawing on the event’s collective spirit to strengthen regional tourism strategies.
