Pacific Tourism Organisation and Niue Tourism Office Release Key Insights from Niue Community Attitude Survey
23 July 2025The Pacific Tourism Organisation (SPTO) continues to focus on building strong partnerships and open communication with its Member Countries as part of its ongoing effort to promote sustainable tourism development across the region. A key highlight of this effort was the June 2025 Nadi Stakeholder Meeting, where SPTO CEO Christopher Cocker and the SPTO team met with leading stakeholders from Fiji’s tourism industry.
As part of the CEO’s annual schedule, the visit served as a strategic opportunity to share updates on SPTO’s 2025 initiatives and to gather valuable insights from Fiji’s lively tourism sector. Discussions centered on common priorities, emerging challenges, and potential areas for collaboration to support the effective implementation of SPTO’s Strategic Plan 2025–2029, especially Strategic Focus Area 2: Marketing Support and Events.
“Maintaining strong relationships with our stakeholders on the ground is vital to the success of Pacific tourism,” Cocker said. “Regular face-to-face meetings such as this one allow us to exchange ideas, align our efforts, and co-create solutions that ensure tourism continues to benefit our people, economies, and environments. We’re proud to walk alongside our stakeholders as we move forward together.”
As part of the visit, Mr Cocker met with New Zealand Māori Tourism CEO Pania Tyson-Nathan to explore opportunities for regional cooperation and indigenous tourism development.
Mr Cocker shared that the visits serves as a timely reminder of the importance of listening to, learning from, and working alongside tourism partners on the ground. And the insights gathered will directly inform SPTO’s ongoing work in marketing, industry engagement, and planning for SPTE 2026, while reinforcing SPTO’s role as a key driver of sustainable and inclusive tourism growth across the Pacific. the Pacific.
