Pacific Tourism Organisation and Pacific Catastrophe Risk Insurance Company Forge Partnership to Strengthen Tourism Resilience in the Pacific
18 March 2025The Vanuatu Tourism Office (VTO), in collaboration with the Pacific Tourism Organization (SPTO), is pleased to announce the successful implementation of the International Visitor Survey (IVS) under the Pacific Tourism Data Initiative (PTDI). Funded by the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (NZMFAT), this initiative highlights the importance of data-driven decision-making in shaping Vanuatu’s tourism sector.
The IVS is a comprehensive survey designed to gather key insights into visitor experiences, spending patterns, and overall satisfaction. The findings play a crucial role in informing tourism policies, enhancing visitor services, and ensuring sustainable tourism development aligned with market expectations.
Conducting the IVS in Vanuatu provides essential data to support Policy Development & Strategic Planning – Assisting stakeholders in making informed decisions. Understanding Visitor Behaviour and Economic Impact – Measuring tourism’s contribution to the local economy. Enhancing Services & Infrastructure – Identifying areas for improvement to elevate the visitor experience.
To encourage participation, visitors who completed the IVS were automatically entered into a prize draw. One lucky respondent has been randomly selected to receive NZD 500, ensuring fairness and transparency in the process. These results will be made available through the Vanuatu Tourism Office website, the SPTO website, and various industry reports and publications. All other platforms used by the VTO such as Industry Updates provided on a fortnightly basis will also report on the IVS outlining its results and reports.
Visitors to Vanuatu are invited to participate in the IVS by completing a brief online survey, which takes approximately 10-15 minutes. This survey is sent via email using Department of Immigration Departure Data. Those who fully complete the survey are automatically entered into future prize draws.
The Vanuatu Tourism Office extends their sincere gratitude to all participants who provided valuable insights through the survey. All feedback is instrumental in shaping the future of Vanuatu’s tourism industry.
As a token of appreciation, we are excited to announce today’s Prize Draw winner, who will receive NZD 500.
Thank you for your support and contribution to Vanuatu’s tourism growth!
SPTO Chief Executive Officer, Christopher Cocker, stated “The International Visitor Survey is a vital tool for understanding visitor trends and strengthening data-driven tourism strategies. SPTO is proud to support the Vanuatu Tourism Office in this initiative, ensuring sustainable growth and enhanced visitor experiences for Vanuatu’s tourism sector.”
