Pacific Tourism Organisation Announces SPTE 2023 Date

The Pacific Tourism Organisation (SPTO) has signed a Cooperation Agreement with the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), the Asia Pacific Tourism Exchange Center (APTEC).
The Cooperation Agreement was initiated following the completion of a UNWTO project to develop and produce the publication entitled UNWTO Tourism Stories Pacific – Resilience through Crisis (working title) in an electronic and printed version.
In acknowledging the importance of the agreement, SPTO CEO Christopher Cocker highlighted that the publication shared insights into the struggles faced by tourism operators in the Pacific and how resilient its people are.
Adding that SPTO’s contribution to the project was to provide the necessary content, technical inputs and outputs for the publication and video series.
“The COVID-19 pandemic has had sudden and severe consequences for tourism in the Pacific. SPTO, in collaboration with its partners like UNWTO and APTEC, is committed to guiding tourism reactivation that is geared towards supporting island economies, Pacific people, their culture and environments”.
