Intercontinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa Recognised As Fiji’s Best Beach Resort & Best Family Resort 2017
1 November 2017Miri Kunawave Brown became the latest inclusion to the PIPSO team when she took up the position of Resilient Project Officer on 4 September 2017.
Funded by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Pacific Risk Resilience Project, Miri’s core role is to coordinate the Pacific Business Resilience Network which was launched by UNDP, DFAT and PIPSO in July during the Regional Capacity Building and AGM in Nadi. Miri is also responsible for supporting the setup of Business Disaster Resilience Councils in PIPSO’s 15 member countries.
The launch of the Pacific Resilience Network follows the launch of the Business Disaster Ready Toolkit, developed in partnership with the Building Safety and Resilience in the Pacific (BSRP) project in the Pacific Community (SPC), Business Disaster Resilience Council (BDRC) of the Fiji Commerce and Employers Federation (FCEF), United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR) and others. Miri has begun her duties in earnest, having already piqued the interest of a few PIPSO members keen to set up their own councils.
She will be working closely with FBRC and PIPSO to support businesses and NPSO members alike in adopting and using the Toolkit as well as other activities that encourage business and community resilience in the Pacific.
Welcome to PIPSO Miri!
