Bula! Air NZ Boosts Christchurch-Fiji Flights
18 December 2017Aranui Cruises’ first voyage to Pitcairn Island has sold out within weeks of going on sale in Australia and New Zealand.
The one-off 13-day round-trip cruise from Papeete to Pitcairn Island was released as part of Aranui’s 2019 cruise programme at the end of November and Aranui’s regional representative Australia New Zealand Laurent Wong says the local allocation was exhausted within a few weeks.
It was the first time the Tahitian adventure cruise line offered a different itinerary from its regular roundtrip voyage from Papeete to the Marquesas, Society and Tuamotu islands, prompting the cruise line to consider more special voyages in the future.
Wong says the combination of Pitcairn’s isolation and history as well as new French Polynesian islands proved an irresistible combination for travellers.
‘While we suspected Pitcairn would be a hit with Australian and New Zealand holidaymakers wanting the ultimate seafaring adventure, we had no idea it would sell out this fast. We will be looking into more cruises to remote Pitcairn Island in the future as well as other new itineraries taking in more French Polynesian islands.’ www.aranuicruises.com.au
