25 March 2018Plantation Island Resort held it’s inaugural “Clean Up Day” on Malolo Lailai Island on the 3rd of March 2018. Guests and staff were invited to join together to help clean up rubbish from areas around the island, most of which has washed ashore from the ocean.
The event was a huge success, with 101 guests and staff working together to clean up the island that Plantation Island Resort calls home. After a number of hours of hard work, all participants of the clean up day were treated to a sausage sizzle and drinks as a thank you from the Resort.
“Environmental initiatives will be a priority for Plantation Island Resort in 2018” states Director of Sales & Marketing, Akshay Singh. “We banned all plastic shopping bags from the Resort in October 2017 and are currently working on a number of exciting initiatives that will help tackle the global plastic pollution problem. This island is our home and we will do everything we can to protect it for generations to come. It was so refreshing to see how many guests, including 17 kids, wanted to participate in this initiative.”

Plantation Island Resort is nestled in the heart of Fiji’s beautiful Mamanuca Islands. Spread over 123 acres of coconut palm-studded tropical gardens, Plantation Island Resort sits on the very shoulders of an azure-shaded lagoon and seven-kilometres of sun-kissed white sand.
