The Kuk UNESCO World Heritage site is the only World Heritage site in Papua New Guinea .
Archaeologists have determined that there was gardening taking place at Kuk about 9,500 years ago.
The Kuk Interpretive Center has been built adjacent to the site as an information center for people wishing to visit the site.
The Center was constructed by the local Ru family at Kuk and the Trans Niugini Tours “Grassroots Foundation for Economic development”.
