PRHG Unveils $10 Million Renovation and Repositioning of Iconic Cook Islands Resorts

Pacific Resort Hotel Group has long been a pioneer when it comes to developing and operating the Cook Islands leading luxury resorts. Today they are pleased to announce the completion of a $10 million renovation and repositioning of the iconic Little Polynesian Resort and Pacific Resort Rarotonga.

The comprehensive renovation programs at both resorts has been ongoing over the past 5-years and entailed a full remodel of all guestrooms including new furniture, floor and wall coverings, as well as a bathroom remodel. In addition, a full renovation of all public area spaces, including restaurant, bar and pool was undertaken and finished. A year-long closure of international borders into the Cook Islands due to COVID-19 has allowed both resorts to fast-track and complete upgrades ahead of schedule.

“We are thrilled with the enhancements made to these iconic resorts, and the upgrade and reposition of Little Polynesian Resort from 4 ½ star to 5 star and Pacific Resort Rarotonga from 4 star to 4 ½ star should help to solidify their position as the preeminent full service resorts in Rarotonga. The renovations and repositioning have been designed to meet the needs of today’s leisure travellers while paying respect to both resort’s rich history, stunning locations and the unique culture of the Cook Islands,” said Marcus Niszow, Chief Executive Officer of Pacific Resort Hotel Group.

All resorts within the group are in the best shape ever with the resort teams ready to welcome international visitors for the first time in over 12 months under a travel bubble with New Zealand from the 17th May 2021.
