Commencing 12 December, 2018, Qantas will add an additional service between Sydney and Noumea. Running until March 2019, QF91 will depart Sydney for Noumea at 0845 on Wednesdays, in addition to the airline’s regular Monday, Saturday and Sunday services. With the additional service, and in combination with existing services run by Aircalin, New Caledonia’s international airline, Australians will be able to travel to New Caledonia all seven days of the week.
Director of New Caledonia Tourism in Australia, Caroline Brunel, says: “We’re pleased that it will now be even easier for Australians to visit New Caledonia, especially during the busy December – March summer travel period. Australian visitation to New Caledonia has climbed by 52.7 percent in the last four years, and we anticipate that this will increase again in 2019 and beyond as our airline partners increase accessibility to New Caledonia which is under three hours from Sydney.”
The new Qantas service will operate using the company’s Boeing 737-800 aircraft. It will be available for sale progressively from mid-June, 2018 on qantas.com or through travel agents.
With Noumea only two hours from Brisbane, under three hours from Sydney and less than four hours from Melbourne, New Caledonia is fast becoming a destination where travellers can have it all. For further information visit: www.newcaledonia.travel/au.
