Real Tonga’s first regional flight to Apia

REAL Tonga launched its first regional flight to Apia, Samoa on the 29th June 2018. The Deputy CEO and General Manager Commercial for REALtonga, Mr. Tele Faletau launched this very important day with a Press Conference at Fuaamotu International Airport’s VIP lounge.

“It is a dream come true to the CEO, Mr. Tevita Palu and his family as this was his long term vision for the company”, Mr. Faletau commented during the press conference. REALtonga is also looking forward to another day like this in the near future.

Mr. Faletau and some of the guests boarded the aircraft after the ceremony together with commercial passengers that have already booked on the flight to Apia, Samoa. They were greeted by the Deputy Prime Minister of Samoa at Faleolo Airport.
REALtonga is now providing 2 services a week, Mondays and Fridays by utilizing it’s SAAB 340. A full meal service is provided onboard as well.

The two flights weekly are being scheduled, to provide convenient flight times as well as good connections to Pagopago and to the U.S.A.
This operation looks to open up more travel, trade and business opportunities between the two neighbouring countries and the international leg between Vava’u and Samoa will offer further growth opportunities for the tourism market. The Samoa route offers the people of Tonga huge reductions in travelling time as well as air fares.
