1 October 2017A RECORD number of entries are expected for the 13 categories that are up for grabs in the 2017 ANZ Fiji Excellence in Tourism Awards.
FETA board of trustees chairperson Bill Whiting said changes to the awards introduced this year may have contributed to the huge response from tourism industry stakeholders.
“We are excited to note the high interest from the industry and encourage all tourism operators to follow-up on their registration and complete their entries following the guidelines, which have been simplified this year, and judging criteria for the category they have chosen to enter,” he said.
Mr Whiting added that all 13 categories were reviewed by the ANZ Fiji Excellence in Tourism Awards Trustees to widen the scope of entries and allow for maximum participation from the industry.
A new category titled Specialised Tourism Services and Support to Industry has received the highest interest followed by the Tourism Sustainability category.
The ANZ Fiji Excellence in Tourism Awards is the pinnacle in tourism distinctions and it serves to recognise resorts, services, and individuals in the industry who have achieved a very high standard of excellence in their respective sectors.
Entries for the 2017 Awards are still open and tourism operators are encouraged to submit their entries online at www.feta.com.fj before the closing date on Monday October 16, 2017.
Winners will be announced at the awards gala dinner on Saturday February 18, 2018.
