Reef Explorer Semi-Sub Reef Experience In Vanuatu

            June 14, 2017

Just of the shores of the Port Vila township, schools upon schools of tropical fish inhabit scores of vibrant, thriving coral pods. And while catching a glimpse from a glass-bottom boat is special, getting up-close-and-personal below the surface is even better.

Reef Explorer’s custom-built semi-submersible boat is the only one in Vanuatu and allows visitors to observe the reefs from a “viewing room” below deck. Half-way through the tour, they moor off Iririki Island, where guests can snorkel, hand-feeding the hundreds of tropical fish.
The tour leaves from the Café du Village on the Kumul Highway and takes approximately 90 minutes. Tours run Monday to Saturday at 10:30am and 2pm, and cost $45 (3500 vatu) for adults and $30 (2500 vatu) for children under 12 years. A family pass for two adults and two children costs $125 (10,000 vatu).
