Reopening of tourism in Maldives and Sri Lanka amid the COVID-19 pandemic

Maldives and Sri Lanka suffered severe economic damage from sharply reduced tourist arrivals. Both countries successfully controlled the COVID-19 pandemic and are preparing to reopen borders and accept tourist.

Senior government officials from Maldives and Sri Lanka discussed preparatory work and ADB has introduced the safe travel guidelines and potential support to tourism.
