In Niue visitors have the opportunity to experience spectacular snorkelling spots with an amazing abundance of fish, corals and other marine life that inhabit the islands waters. One of Niue’s greatest features is its incredibly clear water; this, teamed with extensive coral reefs, makes Niue the perfect place to snorkel.
Visitors are spoilt for choice, with numerous fantastic snorkelling spots around the island ranging from small private beaches and swimming caves to secluded coves and chasms. Some of these hidden chasms were formerly reserved exclusively for ancient Niuean Kings, so they come with a rich history.
Many of the areas are well equipped with information boards, picnic areas and are well signposted, so you can discover them with ease.
You can also explore the outer reef by snorkel, with guided trips available, allowing guests to get in the water with the resident spinner dolphins if they’re around.
Snorkelling gear is available for hire on the island, with some accommodators also offering gear to guests or for hire.
