Solomon Airlines to operate 4 October flight to support international connections

            October 2, 2020

With the approval of the Solomon Islands Government, and other relevant foreign governments, Solomon Airlines will operate a further one-way repatriation flight from Honiara to Brisbane on Sunday 4 October 2020.

The timing of the one-off Solomon Airlines flight is planned to allow for travel via Brisbane to connect with Malaysia Airlines, Emirates, and Qatar Airways.

The national carrier’s Airbus A320 aircraft will first operate a cargo-only flight from Brisbane to Honiara before cleaning and turnaround to operate outbound passenger Flight IE601 departing Honiara at 4.15 pm arriving in Brisbane at 6.30 pm.

Seats are limited for entry to Brisbane but open to those who have an immediate international connection or are an exempt foreign government official. Passengers are advised to check the applicable COVID-19 clearance and quarantine requirements of destination countries and foreign carriers.

Bookings can be made via Solomon Airlines Brisbane or Point Cruz Sales Office, via phone or email.

All Solomon Airlines repatriation flights comply with the COVID-19 regulations and requirements of the relevant countries. Solomon Airlines crew wear facemasks and gloves for the duration of service and catering is minimal to reduce contact between passengers and crew.
